Message: Hi Lad,
I like to go squid fishing around now because the crowds are not so much of a problem and the day light savings means that it gets darker earlier.
They say September is best for large spawning squid around Port Phillip Heads (i.e. Flinders pier and Queenscliff)
You get a lot of squid around mornington in summer on hot nights.

Message: Thanks Glen,
I had a go down at brighton mid week and only saw one squid caught. Good size, taken on a garfish.
I had a half take from a little squid under the lights but after trying 7 different jigs, over a few hours I packed up and left. Water was crystal clear in close
