Hi Glen and fellow squidders,I haven't been on the chat boards for a while,I gave a few reports from queenscliff last season to keep everyone informed on what was happening down that way,now that the season is here again I'll start my reports in the queenscliff and the heads area again,I've got my new savage center consul finished and fully rigged now,so over the next few weeks some reports will be from the boat and some landbased,I only give reports that I can verify or get from people I know personally,so the first report comes from a surf beach near anglesea,I have been told by a good source that the salmon and mulloway are still there,the only thing that seems to be a mystery is at what time they come on the bite!my source tells me that their group fished for 6 hours straight and got zilch,as they were packing up to go home all hell broke loose!in a bite that lasted 45 minutes between 4 people they landed 26 salmon ranging from 1 to 2-1/2kg on pilchards and lures,the surprise catch was a mulloway of 6kg on a pilchard,I know this is a squid board but if I here of these types of reports I'll post them too,got to go now and sort out my tackle for the weekend,till next posting may your clothes be stained black and you smell of ink!! regards peter d.
