No known toxins in squid ink and Ive copped my fair share of squirts in the eye mouth up the trouser leg without any ill effect excpt when I hadf to wipe it off with a stinky bait towel eeeewwwwwww the ink is more of a camoflage so its attacker cant see it and a way to fend of or frighten a fish
