Subject: Cuttlefish IP: Logged
Message: Caught a large cuttlefish this morning, and never having done this before, could anyone tell me how to clean, prepare, and a good recipe (if they are eatable)

Message: Clean the same as calamari, cook the same as calamari, eat the same as calamari and use as bait the same as calamari.
The plastic spine is replaced with a light boney material that is good for the budgie cage to sharpen the bird's beak.
I catch cuttlefish at the end of a channel when the tide turns back towards a high tide.
I catch them wherever I hunt calamari. I also catch octopus at the same places using the same jigs as I use for calamari and cuttlefish.
Hope this helps.
If you don't like the looks of cuttlefish or octopus, keep them fresh and ask any Italian or Greek if they want them. You will make lots of new friends.

Message: Thanks Wes...I thought it was pretty much the same..They sure are UGLY!!!!!!!!!! Have the body in the freezer along with the head, will use the head for bait. Know what you mean about friends, gave away a couple of squid to the local italians, happy fellow!!!!
