Subject: Hand line or Rod IP: Logged
Message: Hi,
Went out on the weekend, vary rought, and only managed a couple. Noticed some other boats using Hand Lines.
When squiding from a boat, on the drift, what is your preference, Hand Line or Rod?

Message: hi zep,
i dont think there is a hard and fast rule as to whether or not you should use a rod or handline. when i am fishing for fish i usually have a squid jig floating out the back of the boat on a handline. Alot of times it will result in a calamari/squid.
make sure the jig is working at the right depth and if the calamari are there and up to it you'll get them regardless of rod or handline :)
