Hey all!

I'm a newbie to this great site and squidding in general. Had a crack off Frankston pier the other day at the crack of dawn. Had no joy using my size 2.0 Ika jig in green/pink.

I couldn't seem to see any grass or structure around the pier? Anyone know of any along the pier where the squid may be hiding?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, mickyp.
hey mate,

I'm a newbie to this site myself. Ive only had a crack for squid off Frankston twice with no luck.

Try Monington, Mt Martha rocks, Rye , Blairbowrie and so on..

Hope this helps.
Hey mate thanks for the help! I'll give Mt Martha a crack soon. I noticed while I was at Frankston a sign posted by the DPI about them installing an artificial reef. Only problem is for us landbased guys it's meant to be placed 50m from the end of the pier! So unless you use a size 4.0 jig plus a sinker and you can cast far, then you've got nearly no chance of catching anything! Oh well, just means I'll have to buy a kayak =)

Thanks for the help again mate!
No worrys. Mt Martha's one of my fav. Great for gars when its calm . There's a few good spots along the rocks you just have to find them
