When would you say the squid season officially begins in Newport this year? Has anyone been catching anything so far?
Please let me know.

I order several Pheromone Skin Duel Yo-Zuri Squid jig and Aurie-Q jigs from Sydney, AU (tym1 sold one to me last year, I make a killing with his jig, he boughts from AU). The shipping cost just way too much, but oh well... got to pay for the hobby right.

SS, I remember tht you guys are from NHaven. Wareham is just before the cape if you head east on 195 from prov. If you picture cape cod as an arm with plymouth as the shoulder then Wareham is in the armpit. I'm 8 miles form the canal.

Winters been good as winter goes. Went S and did some fishing; nothing as spectacular as in years past. Bought some new gear, haven't got the new boat yet.

Newbi, I'm in the BBAnglers too. On my way into the mtg last thursday I met another guy, Bill r who lives in Bourne and keeps his boat off of Pinehurst. I caught my biggest squids in Onset last year but got the most poundage by the hour (of fishing) in newport. I tried AMtion with little success, didn't try Mattapoisett. Some nites its worth the drive to Newport. Its always "worth the drive" to Onset .....cause if they're not there I can go to MArc Anthony's for a beer and some 'zah or back home to wwatch the sox. I think I did best on the rising tide but I tend to fish whenever I can and I don't keep a log of my squid fishing.
