The other day I ate something that may have been squid at a Chinese place. I'm not entirely sure though. It was white, kinda with what may have been tentacles curled upwards. The tentacles were all along the shaft.... Could this have been squid? (it was seafood.)

My educated guess would be that you had CUTTLEFISH, a cousin of squid. Cuttlefish is usually bigger and meatier than squid.
