The following information was obtained from the Fisheries Victoria Commercial Fish Production Information Bulletin 2003 which can be viewed on the Department of Primary Industries website:


Key facts are as follows:

In 2002/2003 the total harvest of southern calamari from Victorian waters was 64 tonne. 40 tonne was taken in Port Phillip Bay, 5 tonne from Western Port Bay and 17 tonne from Corner Inlet.

See the attached extract for the total statewide catch of soutern calamary, arrow squid, octopus and cuttlefish (and the value of the catch).
