Are you boat or shore based. Any of the jetties in the sound will have squid around. We fish out in the boat or kayaks. Any shallow water with weed and sand patches will hold plenty of squid. Being early in the season they are a bit small but grow very fast. Things will only get better over the next six months.

Not the calmest day on the water but managed 16 squid in a few hours. The new Tsuriken Hyper Darts worked a treat.
