In November 2004, Helga Josupeit of GLOBEFISH put together a Squid Market Report.
It can accessed with the following link -
http://www.globefish...dex.php?id=2295
The article concludes by stating that the outlook for the squid fishery in 2005 is not very promising. It is expected that there will be a decline in demand for squid. Also, the supply of squid globally will be very low due to poor predicted harvests and so traders will be asking for higher prices.
The article states that the only chance of receiving more squid supplies will be from the Asian continent. It is expected that China will start to play an important role also as squid supplier to Europe, in the coming months.
