Gold Coast Broadwater, QLD - Aragorn - 14-06-2009

I went to fremantle this morning around 6:00am,tried many spot but didn't get anything in first two hours. But before I went home,I saw a big cuttlefish hide behind some rocks. And I put my jig down and waited for about 10 minutes, finally it came out and grab my jig.LOL,it's the biggest one I 've ever seen, just amazing. That's the only one I got today but what a one!I dinn't weigh it because I share it with my friends but I think it'a around 3.5 kg.

cheers,

Ray

must be pretty hard to reel it in, they fight a lot harder than calamaris (but calamari dont usually grow to that size) <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

butt-ugly but taste good if prepared right <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> they are really messy and take so long to clean, would prefer calamari over cuttle anyday <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I don't even need to reel it in,bacause it was right at my feet! That's why I can put my jig down and waited for about 10 minutes. That's a good spot,I got 3 big octopus(around 3kg each) there, they are all at my feet as well. But octopus are much harder to catch, because they stick to rocks.

AFew yes ago we got one deep sea fishing that was at least 25/30Kg, the skipper did not want it aboard the boat but a Korean Guy insisted on keeping it (we didin't know it was worth $30/Kg!)

Boy did it make a mess of his boat !
