Ommastrephes Spp - Sarikka - 31-07-2010 I'm not sure about mass, but their mantle length reaches about a foot. Humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) are also Ommatrephes and can reach 50 pounds and 6 feet in mantle length. They are becoming more common along the Pacific coasts of North and South America.
