Nice that's the same squid they have on the west coast. With the fins spanning the length of the tube. I went down there today about 4:30 for a couple of hours. Grabbed a bunch. I think for some odd reason the fishing down there is much better with no lights. Maybe that's why you saw him pulling up so many than when you put your generator on the bite went off. Canal squid are quirky. With those nice big squid stew them for over 45 mins in tomato sauce and white wine then pull the off the heat when they get tender. I save the small ones for frying and the big ones for stewing.
