#1
hi every one me and a mate went to stansbury on the weekend and we got 11 huge squid biggest measuring 355mm (tube) they realy tested out our line. when we got home we had a closer look at our line and it seems to be very stretched!

we also got 33 massive tommies so all in all it was very much worth the 2am trip over there!

Well after 5 early mornings with NO results whatsoever it all came together on morning 6. Arriving just before dawn I finally got the spot I wanted. I threw in the hand line and float straight away as I normally do, mainly to test what the wind and water movement was like, while I put out my crab nets. I only had time to get 1 net in the water before the float went under and squid number 1 was in the bucket. Chucked out the float again and had time to get the other 2 nets in before I was on again. 2 squid within 10 minutes! You beauty! I decided to leave the float and cast for a while so I could cover a bigger area and the next half hour was the most fun I have ever had squidding. 8 more made their way to the bucket within that 30 minutes <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' /> Then all of a sudden just after the sun rose they were gone and for the next hour I didnt get a touch. That was ok though because the 9 blueys made up for the lack of squidding action <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> Can't wait to get back to Stansbury in January and hopefully do the same again.

Back from another week at Stansbury. Sad to report I had no action like I did last time, however I did manage 14 squid for the week. They were hard work, and apart from 2 bags of 4 they were either singles or doubles in 3-4 hour stints. Never mind, got heaps of blueys to make up for it...kind of <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> . Talking to locals, they said that the squid were pretty heavily targeted over Xmas, and might take a bit to come back. Any truth in this do you think?
