Price is usually a good indication.

Just like all other fishing gears, quality gears are never cheap. All premium jigs are well over $10+ each, and can get up to $30 depends on its brand and model. if you find a pack of 5 claimed to be "premium" jigs for $10 or $15, chances are they are not. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I m not sure about Yamashita, but all yo-zuri jigs have "yo-zuri" engraved in their sinkers. Buy from your local tackle shop or other reputable sources, they should be genuine.

One trick is to look carefully at the packaging, another is if you have a genuine Yammy check the pattern of the luminous belly, then compare it to the fake at night,by shining a bright torch on it for a few secs.

alot of yamashitas have Yamashita written on the weight. The weight will usually also have 2 hold in it and it wont be shaped square or rectangular. The top of the body will also be a bit more pointier rather than rounder. Fakes usually have YA on them or no writing on the weight at all. As mentioned above price is a good indication. If its above 15 dollars its most likely a yamashita, or just a very expensive fake
