Nice one!! Do you catch them on lures or flies? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' />

They have just moved in down around Cape Otway.... the size of pick handles.... hundreds of them.

They are pests.....

But fun to catch on light gear and with soft plastics <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

It used to be what Fish and Chips was here in the 60's and 70's... now more often than not, they have worms in the tail.... only good for bait

I don't know if i can tell barracudas are undesirable . They have been always present in Mediterranean Sea but these last ten years , the population has increased considerably and probably has an impact on other species . I never had this worm problem with this fish and his flesh is appreciable .

It's a good fighting fish and i have more fun with it <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> and sometimes only that it bites ...

Salty-dog , what sort of soft plastics do you use ?

I like the ones with the wiggly tail. Just one tail is best for me.

I think barracuta or barracuda are not very fussy and will eat any soft plastic that moves fast <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

They also take those 6 hook bait jigs with flashy plastis foils & luminous beads.
