Sydney Harbour, NSW
#1
Hi to all the Sydney squid fisho's, I have fished Botany - Laperouse land based but would like to try Sydney Harbour, any suggested spots for boat fishing the harbour would be greatly appreciated. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

hi, you can try bradleys head. I have caught squid there before. There is a slab there, fish either side of the slab, see how you go.

Hi Mr!

have not tried for squid lately but the rat's ( under sized king fish) are thick around the inside of north head of Sydney harbour. Try near the buoy - wave marker north head it gets a bit rough but worth a try <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fishie.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fishing.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' />

Caught a small one at Darling Pt. ferry wharf yesterday.

I would think that Rose Bay should have a few too.

R U 12 Mug gave me a few tips and unfortunately they are where you find them.

We walked the foreshore a couple of times the other night and did not see a squid.

I believe it is also the end of the season and they may have moved out into the bay.

Fish-N-Chippy has posted some good reports of squid over at Peel Island.

I was tuning a jig a while ago and it was just sitting in the water not far from my feet while I untangled a knot at the reel when this squid decided it was having the jig no matter what.

I got him but it scared the bejesus out of me.

i use 20lbs braid which is thin and tie 15lbs of flurocarbon to the braid.it is slightly thick depending on the brand.i use nitlon dfc.remember it is invisible under water the flurocarbon.and also you are fishing around weed, and if you get snagged you can pull most jigs out.and yo zuri jigs aint cheap.this is my method and i do well.even off the rocks.i use a g-loomis rod in the dsr model.very light rod and stiff tip for jigging the jig and a small shimano 3000 spheros reel which you cant get any more.and the rod is great for casting but not a cheap rod.i even use the rod for luring and got a 5kilo cuttle fish on it.nice rods.worth the price, not cheap
