Spring In Sydney
#1
Well the weather has gone almost straight from winter to summer but the water is still very cold.It has improved a degree or so in the last week and the fish are beginning to bite, mainly trevally &bream.I have been squidding a few days over the last couple of weeks and some small calamari are starting to just be big enough to chase a jig,but they are really only good for bait. There are masses of very tiny 1cm squid floating around and the massive baitfish numbers will allow them to grow quickly,I hope a bumper season is coming! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Gday Kingy, we are in the same boat on the south coast, water starting to warm up a little but it is still a bit cold for most of the summer species to really start biting well. I got a few bream on surface lures last weekend which was encouraging. I have been also been catching a few tiny squid (4-5cm hoods).
