Second Valley - SA
#1
Headed down to second valley tonight with a couple of mates. windy as all hell. mates pulled in 2 nice size squid on jigs. no luck with the baited.... heaps of fish and squid hanging around, but the wind was that bad that it ruined the night.... how u been Mr willy, long time no talk ey???
Remember you cant keep all of the squid happy all of the time, only some of the squid some of the time...

second valley is always anice place to squid, although this time of year i found i dont catch too many many half a doz. sound like you were lucky. i usually wait for the warmer months to squid, take the kids all along the coast from normanville upwards.

the hubby doesnt really enjoy fishing/squiding but me and the kids love it.

keep us all filled in on where the hot spots are.

It's pretty good fishing down that way at the moment. The wife and I went to Rapid Bay yesterday and picked up 20 in a couple of hours. The best part of the day though was when she went to assist a bloke trying to pull up a 30-35cm squid. His reel wasn't coping at all so she thought i'll go over and pull up his line for him, her good deed for the day. Well all was going well until the squid came up to the handrail and inked her right in the face, arms, torso you name it it got her good. result one happy fisherman for landing his squid, one wife who has probably done all the good deeds she ever will. I know if i had let my inner laughter go i would have ended up on a jag. Unknown to my wife this bloke had been yelling at his wife in Italian or Greek to go down the stairs and he would land it there hence not having to lift to the jetty. Anyway i enjoyed the mornings fishing.

Cheers
