Hi! I am new to this site. I've always though that squids were pretty awesome. The giant squid is pretty neat. I've spent a lot of time researching squids, especially Giant Squids <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . But now for my question: Have any of you ever seen a giant squid?

Yep giant squid are awesome but I have never seen one in the flesh, only in pictures but would love to see one up close and alive.

i have never seen one either but i did read a great story once of a diver who was attacked by a giant squid while doing some filming. here is the link to the article -
