Hakodate segment on The Great Outdoors
#1
Hello all

Did anyone see "The Great Outdoors" on Monday night? They had a travel segment on a Japanese squid fishing town called Hakodate - the people of Hakodate have a squid festival each year, complete with squid dances etc. They showed tanks full of live arrow squid at the market, which you can catch yourself and have prepared as sushi (reckon I'd give that a miss). They also showed some massive dried squid.

Glen, maybe we could invent our own squid dance - I'll leave it with you.

Hi Jaz, I missed that TV show. Sounded interesting. I would not be too keen to grab an arrow squid out of a tank! They are savage buggers!

The squid dance will be a key feature of this website...ah....maybe. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

(p.s. I moved our scuba/wetsuit conversation to the Anything under the Sun section. Also moved the Giant trevally stuff since it had little to do with Flinders!)
