Newcastle, Bar Beach, Merewether?
#1
Hi - I am BRAND new to squid fishing, and I have the added disadvantage of being restricted to public transportation or my bicycle for transport. I'm just trying to find out if there is anywhere in the area (maybe near the baths or near the beaches or near the ferries - ok ANYWHERE [Image: rolleyes.gif]) that I could get to fairly easily to catch squid. Also, what time of day, etc. would you recommend? I was gifted a rod and lures - but I haven't a clue what I'm doing. Last but not least - if anyone is in this area and would like a person to squid with - let me know - I'll happily give you all of the squid I catch in trade for teaching me where/how to squid fish!

Thanks!

I am up for it! Various ppl have said behind the ocean baths and on the spit side of nobbys breakwall but... Would love to squid in Newy as the drive to port Stephens or the lake hasn't exactly been rewarding!

Used to see squid at carrington basin before they closed it off...Sad
