Info on squid poles needed? Posted by peter d on August 17, 2001, 12:41 am
Hi squidaroos,In the past I've always used surf/rods-reels to fish for squid and now I'm thinking of buying a dedicated telescopic squid pole about 12 foot long, the only trouble is all the poles I've seen so far are really crappy quality and too soft, a good 2kg squid would bend them so far over that you would not lift the squid over the rail! has anybody seen a good pole that wont bend into the letter "U" when it loads up? also has anybody seen a pole with guides all the way up the blank, that way a small reel can be added and the line length could be controlled better, instead of adding or cutting line at the rod tip,[any suggestions welcomed] regards peter d.
