Hi all,
 
Sorry for the lack of reports lately but I haven't been out much and I haven't heard much either. I was readng a report today however which suggests I have been missing out on some very good squid fishing in port phillip bay and in western port.
 
spots mentioned included portsea (and mornington to a lesser extent). flinder gets a mention and san remo as well. Apparently the squid have been a lot bigger than usual and in good numbers. Squid to 3 kilo of portsea? Sounds too good to be true. Will have to check it out this weekend to let you know if this is all hype
 
Also, mention was made of reef island in western port. Now I guess they were fishing here from a boat but you can actually walk out to the island at low tide. Has anyone tried for squid here?
