well the scientific name is Dosigas gigas. Humbolts get to be around 6 to 7 feet long at most and 1 to 3 at the smallest. They are very comon in the gulf of mexico. But they are around all of the eastern american coast line. But they get smaller depending on how far up you fish. But i am trying to find a way to catch one of these bad boys. Oh yeah and reading over the other posts. A humbolt wont take of a finger a 3 footer will take your hand off most likely, and a 6 footer bighting in the right place can probially take of your arm. And they are very agressive. But also curious of everything that falls into the water. Usually if its smells like food they will take a bite out of it.But not the jig.
