Gerhard, I was told some time ago that you could get squid in the harbour at Crowdy of a nighttime. On a resent trip up there I put a bit of time in to catching some, picking a high tide just after dark I went over and worked my way around the bay and along the jetties without even a sniff, stopping to speak with a gentleman that was fishing halfway along the northern jetty, tourist,I asked, no he replied, I've lived here for twentyfive years, so straight away I've thought this is the bloke that should know if I've been wasting my time, so I asked, I've never seen anybody catch one since I've been living here, he replied, not even outside the harbour, I added, no again, he answered, the only squid you see around there are arrow squid that come off the prawn trawlers, so with that I picked up my bucket and home I went, so to answer your question, NO.
