i went to jefferies st wharf last night... it was absolutely packed.
apparently this was because someone had come and caught over 70 squid there the night before... well thats the story anyway.
got there at about 8pm
low tide was at 10:30pm, and high at 5:30am.
i didnt catch anything at all til about 3am. then all of a sudden, everyone on the wharf started pulling in squid (between 10 and 30 cm) continuously, until i left at about 4:30am to throw some live baits out at a better spot.
Thats insane...
The problem is though, fishing for squid for more than 20 minutes in the same spot can become rather boring as they are either there or theyre not, i tend to give it 15 minutes then move on to my next spot..
The bigger ones must have come up on the high tide, were you fishing out the front of the wharf or behind it up against the rocks??
