Went out with a couple of mates to a secret place in Mie in the weekend.
Second time out and they took me to their secret spot (sorry landshark)
Apparently this spot is relatively untouched and a guaranteed hot spot <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
I got into the action pretty quick and hooked up what felt like a big one. But two pumps from the squid and my leader broke <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' /> We were fishing a pretty rocky area and my leader was getting cut up real quick.
I move on after a while and tried another rock. There I got my first Aori (big-finned reef). The tiddler of the night <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
I then managed to loose about 6 egis over the next hour or so <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> After I started checking my leader after every 2nd cast, I only lost 1 more. A rather expensive lesson.
Anyway, the 3 of us managed to catch 5 Aori between 300 and 700g and one octopus. Not bad for the season but well below expectation for the spot. We decided the cause was the setnet accross were the squid should have come swimming <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> Looks like we will be off squiding until autumn.
