Nice to meet you bimin twist
Mr. Boston and I actually want to thanks tym1 for letting us know about Boston Squid Fishing. I actually have doubt when tym1 told us about it.
I asked around local people (near the pier), they mention that in the past 3 yr, they actually see squids around, but no one actually squid for it. So my plan is May in Goat Island and June in Boston. As a matter of fact, I still catch squid until September in Boston Harbor, but not as crazy as in early May in New Port. Thanks tym1 (Kevin!)

How big is your boat ?

I have a 23 patriot maritime skiff , so i can fish pretty much any time of the year. i had the boat in the harbor 2 weeks ago and looking forward to doing some cod fishing . Maybe you can show me the ropes for squiding in the harbor , do you fish from a boat.

Mr. Boston
I fish the same way so I have no problem staying until dawn have done it many time over. Did I see your name on apost about squid fishing boston harbor . I have fished boston harbor all my life and never knew there could be squid caught in the harbor

Awesome! Sounds like my kind of squidding partner  , Yes me,sfoxnh,1tym caught squid in Nut Island in quincy over this summer.. The squid we catch here in Boston is a bit smaller and doesnt run like they do in Newport but good enough to go after them.I believe we can catch them June-Sept, I too was surpised that we could catch squid right in our backyard but 1tym (Kevin) has proven us wrong...

Won't be long now guys and gals......

I'm going to say April 22nd is the first strong run of squid this year....

I say we all try to pick out a date and have a Squidfish.net Party Day..... I'de like to bring a portable deep fryer and cook up some fresher than fresh squid rings for all this year....Who's up for it?

Ned in CT.

Hey Guys. I was here last year. LAyed low on forums. But yeah. Super excited to Come from NH to Newport. LOL. Like every year I do. But I might be back on the bridge this year. Unfortunately snow has to fall and a lot of houses collapsed. Even worst MY GARAGE Collapsed on the back of my boat. Hopefully. I can just pull it out. But Squid usually comes in on the 25 of April. So you can expect me to be on the bridge then.

Funny I was just talking to my brother about our plan of attack for this coming squid season. I told him last night "i'll let you know when I get the first email from squidfish.net" Not 24hrs later and here we are.

I'm looking into alternatives to the bridge this year. Been hitting it up the past 3 yrs now and every year it gets worse. True it yields some nice catches on certain nights but the overcrowding and rudeness of a lot of people on that bridge has persuaded me to look into other options. Last year I even had a guy go so far as to reel up my line RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and proceed to attempt to steal it. I wanted to heave him overboard! Plus in the event that trash becomes an issue again this year as it has in past, i'd like to have a backup plan JUST in case they shut it down like they've been threatening to do for a couple years now.

Either way i'm lookin forward to getting out there with you all and fillin up some buckets!

It wasbad last year, I had scumbag take a leak up wind of me and wanted to throw his arse off the bridge. There are other options. Like fishing during the week when most have to get to work.

When people are literally being bussed in, i don't think it makes much difference, especially when the best action is at night. I've gone during the week, ,mornings, ,afternoons, nights , weekends and it's been PACKED within an hour of me arriving every single time. I've never once had a night there that it wasn't.

Just out of curiosity, (no racism intended) but doesn't anyone know why the bridge is always shoulder to shoulder asians? I noticed they get bussed there too but where from? On several occassions last yr. i saw multiple busses bringing hundreds of asians to the bridge. The only plus side is I'm taller than all of them so i can see over everyone and find my friends easily ...heh.

I, agree, we should all lead by example. And I don't mean to single you out 1Tym or to bust anybody's b*11$ and I hope I don't piss off any of the good folks here because I enjoy fishing with all of you.
How often do each of you bring a trash bag and pick up? I brought a large trash bag most times I went last year and picked up other peoples trash in waterfront park; and most times someone saw me picking trash and helped out. ALL OF THOSE TIMES AT LEAST ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED AND OFTEN THE ONLY PERSON THAT HELPED WAS A CHILD OF ASIAN HERITAGE.

Now I realise that this doesn't mean that children of Asian heritage are more likely to help than others. I realise that when 80% of the people around are of Asian heritage there is an 80% chance that (variables in upbringing aside)if something is done good or bad it will be done by...............
................ someone of Asian heritage.

I challenge each and every one of you to bring a trash bag every time you go this year and pick trash when the squiding slows. (when you're not cooking, eating and drinking beer).

PEACE
