Avoiding Bitterness From Squid Ink

Hello, I am wondering how to clean/drain ink from tentacles/head when preparing thawed out squid to cook. Last time I just cooked squid as is and bitterness from ink was unbearable! Stores maryhules@ameritech.net

here offer squid frozen but not fresh.
