Last nights trip with Frances was great. Don't think we even made it to Nebraska
shoals. We drifted all night with only 1 move. Started in daylight and it was a slow
but steady pick. As it got later it got better and better. By 10:30 it was an all out
blitz, on bottom, mid depth and even on surface. I employed Anthony's method and
caught a bucket just on that, one jig no weight and even if you couldn't see them
they came up and hit it. Lots of times had 4-6 squid fighting over same jig. This
lasted till 12 midnight and then started to slow but we headed in at 12:30. Took home
almost full bucket and gave away another full bucket. Yee Ha.  It was great being able
to experiment. As for colors, pink, green, white, blue, orange tried them all with great
success. Did notice how the squid would come up sometimes and race to the jig only
to stop short and look at it and reach out to test it and after touching the jig (wrong end
of course) they would leave and another would come and do the same. Got some of
the spray scent (menhaden) and used that to see if it made a diff. yes it did they started
taking it after touching it. Only 25 people on board and everyone was moving around.
I caught squid on stern on bow and both sides of boat. BTW size did not matter, 1.5,
and mostly 2.5 were working equally as well. Gotta go clean em now, should be doneÂ
in about 4-5 hours (hate this part).
