Newport, Ri - 2007 Squid Season

Causeway was slow last night except for one fella. He was using a 2.5 " green dimple Yo-Zuri. My small blue Vietnamese which has been working great struck out. Also off the causeway I fished down at the rock wall corner. Squid hit hard for 15 minutes. This is the second time this has happened. It seems if you have the first light at the corner you get banging squid for 15 minutes. The larger 2.5” Yo-Zuris seem to be working better than the smaller Martinettis. The 1/2 oz. weight in the middle jig on end is the rig of choice. However size wise you can’t go wrong with a Martinetti in you pocket.
