Suzy must be hungry for some calamari?

Sorry but I think you are going to have to wait a bit longer for the fresh caught stuff. Looks like another trip to the supermarket will have to do for right now.

I'll love to go NP in this spring. But I have to go back to Japan for work. I'll miss all the cabin fever in this spring. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

But I'll try squid in Japan. There are many squid fishing opportunity in there. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I would defitnely take the first week of May off! For the past 3 years from my person experience, the first week of may has been the prime for catching squid at Newport <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

stripercrazy: From my experiences, Yo-zuri seems to be the most popular brand, my favorite color are Pink, Green and Blue.

Also, search forum for Coleman's Squid Jig, he carries Martinnetti, I have luck with the Lazer Prawn Liminous, however the quality is not as good as Yo-zuri.

johnat: The trick is the get there when it strike, from what I learned, the first (to third) waves of squid or 3 are the biggest squid, and it often on the first week of may. So you can bet I'll visit newport in the first two weeks May. Send my regards to Suzy, hope to see you there in May.

Mr. Boston: How are things man ? No, didn't do any fishing this winter at all.

Anyone want to carpool with me from South Shore to Newport ? Gas is getting expensive nowadays.

thanks....I bought some squid hooks, I'm going to try to build some
