Alright, I'll give low slack a try on Friday.

I've hit a couple nights where I got limit but they were both different tides. My first run was high outgoing, the last one was low slack.

I guess it's more luck than anything. I only spend about 6 hours squidding on Fridays and Saturdays. I'm bringing a ring net this time so I can crab during the slow times.

What size is considered a jumbo?
They were all just good size;8-12 inches.

12 inches! The largest I've seen here is 11". Mostly see 6-8". I like the smaller ones though, they are a bit more tender.
Has anyone been to Des Moines lately or know how the squid are running down there?
Finally limited out in Seattle yesterday for the first time. What an experience. Every cast one or two squids instantaneously.
where did u fish 10IB? i might have seen you! 70? fished last monday limited! and yesterday limited from 3-7pm then had a nice run from 12-7am
Sounds like the squid are squidding theirselves around a bit!
Man, edmonds is bunk this weekend.. No one catching anything. Glad I brought my crab net, at least I'll be able to eat some crab tonight!
Just came home from Seattle. Limited out again and took an additional 4 pounds after 12. Fishing was very good after 10 p.m and until I left they were still biting like crazy. Squidman1 I was fishing with other people that day, maybe you were there as well. Today I was fishing from my kayak.

I talked to the WDFW about doing what you did. They told me it was illegal. Supposed to be one limit every 24 hours, (daily). I checked with the Mill Creek WDFW, about this last year. I thought it would be cool to double up on clams and squid one night, if I just waited until 1201 AM. But I had a weird feeling about it, so I made the call to the headquarters. Without a question illegal WDFW officer said. Then asked me where I was going. LOL! Just a heads up.
Technically "daily" is the next day starting at 1201am but they do it every once every 24 hour, thats how they get their money and not getting fired. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />

But he's right unforetuantely! Wish it was like it was back in the day! catching as much as you can in one night! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cry' />

Report from friday night! Limited! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
WDFD Regulations Page 124 says the possesion limit for squid is:

One daily limit in fresh form. Additional shellfish may be possessed in frozen or processed form

So, you can not keep more than 10 lbs. even if you fish overnight for two days. You may be able to get away, if you fish on a freezing cold night and if all the squid in your first bucket is frozen(!), technically speaking.... Just go home when you have limited, and come back on another day. It's only fishing...

Some people, like me, don't have that "another day" due to busy life. Or that "another day" won't produce anything for you.
So, what you guys saying is that if I got my limit from 8pm until 11pm, I can't come the next day at 5pm because my 24 hour start at 8pm? Well, then wdfw can easily give tickets to almost everyone.
The limits are based on what you are in possession of. Basically you can fish your limit, 8pm to 11pm one night, go home and toss it in the freezer, then come back the next day at 5pm and squid your next limit out.

When I was a young lad, my grandfather would take us boys out to lake wenatchee, and he would always bring his smoker and canner so he could fish in the morning, catch his limit, then process his catches. Then at dusk would go out again and catch another limit.
That's right. You can take home 10 lbs. every day, or night, and come back the next day for another limit, but you may not have more than 10 lbs in you bucket and continue to fish for more. You just go home whe you have your limit. It's that easy.

That doesnt make it right to take advantage of bending the rules in your favor.
