Puget sound, WA (2013 season)
#41
Welcome back, I haven't caught squid for a while now, but I'm usually up in Edmonds starting late summer.
#42
Anyone on the forum fished the San Juan Islands? More specific orcas island? I actually spotted 3 squid around leiber haven dock by obstruction pass last fall just after sun set... But I don't know much about their behavior and don't know whether they can be found there often or If I would need to try the larger docks. Any info on the area would be much appreciated.

Anyone know some good lakes to fish for trout?
#44
Check the stock list on wdfw website. Some lakes around here get large triploids.

Think the warm weather might bring out the squid this weekend? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> I haven't gone by Redondo (Federal Way) yet to see if there are any jiggers out on the dock, but I think I'll swing by there tonight. With the great weather this weekend I'd really love to go out and catch something!

Was fishing Edmonds for Lingcod at night. Happenly threw out a sizeable eel swimbait and here comes a small school of squid. Gonna try this month and tonite. We will see how it goes.
#47
You end up with either one? Squid or ling?
#48
No lings yet but went the next night caught quite a few squid but VERY TINY
#49
Yeah, should be nice and plump by July, I can't wait for late summer, fish for pinks and kings during the day, shrimp and squid at night. Doesn't get any better than that! Although my wife isn't as thrilled about my all day/night adventures, haha.

Going for springers on the cascade for opening, Yay! Hopefully I'll nail some fish between now and squid season.

Have to go after sunset. Squid fishing from shore is done at night.

Went last friday night and I got about 8 pieces. Early saturday (8AM) one of the usual shrimpers got about 21 pieces. Not a bad way to start summer 2013.

this isn't necessairly the case.  I've squid during the day at dash point, and illahee and done quite well last year.  You get to dash point right after it opens, some people leave by 3pm with their limit.
